Menopause is when your periods stop completely, usually between the ages of 45 and 55. It's confirmed after 12 months without a period, though symptoms can begin years earlier. And it's called the perimenopause phase.

Yes, they often do. You might feel fine one week and overwhelmed the next. Symptoms like hot flushes, sleep issues, or mood changes can fluctuate, which is completely normal. And we see it in almost every woman who visits our BlackWater Private Menopause Clinic.

Not always. In most women over 45, menopause is diagnosed based on symptoms and menstrual changes. Blood tests are usually only needed if there's uncertainty or if you're under 45.

It varies for every woman. Menopause symptoms can last a few years, but for some, they continue longer. The transition itself is gradual, and support is available throughout every stage.

We'll take time to listen. You'll talk through your symptoms, health history, and concerns, then explore treatment options together. Expect your visit to be just a calm, supportive conversation, nothing rushed.

Usually, we'll check in after starting treatment, then periodically to see how you're feeling. Follow-ups are flexible, based on your needs, progress, and any changes you experience.

Menopause Is Natural But The Transition Can Still Be Stressful

Some women breeze through menopause. Many don't. So our menopause clinics in Ireland and the UK offer the care you need to get your life back.
